Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 4/5 July. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.
Potential Tube strike
The ASLEF, RMT, Unite and TSSA unions are currently planning strike action next week, affecting London Underground. If this goes ahead, there will be no Tube service from late afternoon on Wednesday 8 July and no Tube service at all on Thursday 9 July. All other public transport services and roads would, of course, be much busier than usual.
We will be issuing detailed travel advice to customers as soon as we can next week. For the most up-to-date information, please click here
London Underground
We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.
Trains will not run between Aldgate East and Dagenham East. This is to allow for Crossrail work at Whitechapel, replacing track and drainage at East Ham and station improvement work at Stepney Green.
Hammersmith & City line
There will be no service between Liverpool Street and Barking. This is to allow for Crossrail work at Whitechapel, replacing track and drainage at East Ham, and station improvement work at Stepney Green.
London Overground
There will be no service between Highbury & Islington and Shadwell (due to Crossrail work at Whitechapel) and Gospel Oak and Barking (due to Network Rail infrastructure work).
On Saturday, trains will not run between Sydenham and Crystal Palace, due to Crossrail work at Whitechapel.
On Sunday, there will be no service between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon, due to Network Rail track work.
