Weekly travel update to help get around London this weekend of 27/28 February. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please do check if any of the following affect you.
London Underground
We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London’s transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.For a map showing the planned line closures for this weekend and also bus replacement information, please click here
Piccadilly line
There will be no service between Acton Town and Uxbridge. This is while we replace track at South Harrow and Alperton.
London Overground
Trains will not run between Romford and Upminster, due to Crossrail and Network Rail infrastructure work.
On Sunday, there will be no service between the following stations:
•
Gospel Oak and Barking until midday, to prepare the line for electrification
•
Kilburn High Road and Euston until midday, and after 20:45 due to Network Rail track work
•
Gospel Oak and Stratford due to Network Rail track work
From Monday until Thursday 3 March, trains will not run after 22:30 each night between Sydenham and West Croydon due to Network Rail track work.
TfL Rail
Trains will not run between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. Buses
Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:Central London – Until mid-March, one lane is closed northbound on Charing Cross Road at the junction of Denmark Street. This is for pavement improvement work.
Neasden – From 00:30 until 05:30 on Saturday, the eastbound carriageway of the A406 will be closed between Harrow Road and Staples Corner. From 00:30 until 05:30 on Sunday, and midnight on Sunday night until 05:00 on Monday, the westbound carriageway will be closed between Staples Corner and Brentfield Road. This is for bridge repairs and resurfacing work.
Central London – From 08:30 on Saturday until 18:00 on Sunday, there are temporary traffic lights in place on High Holborn at the junction of Chancery Lane. This is for resurfacing works.
Central London – From 11:30 to 17:00 on Saturday, delays are expected, in particular on Park Lane, Trafalgar Square and Regent Street. This is due to a demonstration.
Wembley – From 14:00 until 20:30 on Sunday, the A406, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads surrounding Wembley Stadium are expected to be busy. This is due to a sporting event.
Elephant & Castle – From Monday 29 February until mid-March, there will be overnight resurfacing work at the Elephant & Castle junction, as part of the Road Modernisation Plan. Work will take place each night from 21:00 until 05:00, except during Friday night. For full details, please visit tfl.gov.uk/elephant
