The First Capital Connect train goes direct to St. Pancreas International Station, London Blackfriars, London Bridge, East Croydon and then on to Brighton. There is one every 15 minutes during the week and half hourly on weekends.
You will need to take the shuttle bus from London Luton Airport to the Luton Train Station, which you have to pay for. Make sure you your ticket starts from the Aiport and not the station.
Taxi:
While the Taxi is an option, the journey is almost an hour, so it will be very expensive even if convenient. It is possibly an idea for a group.
